Synopsis
Shanghai Knights (2003) chronicles the adventures of martial arts instructor Chan (Jackie Chan), who helps to retrieve the necklace of Shanghai, a woman who is believed to hold the secrets of the gods. The mission involves a succession of obstacles, including a diabolical master of kung fu, a group of international criminals, and the "Black-Suited God", who appears at regular intervals to give Chan and his friends one more chance to succeed.
Production
The film was written by the director, David Dobkin, and the producer, Rick McCallum, from a story by the latter two, based on the 1983 Hong Kong television series, Aces Go Places. It was produced by Irwin Winkler and Alan Rosenberg. It was filmed in and around Shanghai and other locations in China.
